Melissa's first, and why girls are important

Ok, it is the official first posting of the Peterson Family Blog. Like I will remember to update this with some consistancy.....YEEAAAH right! But I thought what Caleb said today would make a good first entry. He told me that he was in a fight at school and he hit a kid, not hard, just made his nose red. (Ooookkkaaay.) In other words I do not know the whole story. Apparently this kid he was in a fight with likes to bully others, especially girls. Here is part of our conversation:
Caleb: you can't hit girls, it is REAL bad
Me: yes it is.
Caleb: it is even against the law to hit girls.
Me (half listening): yes it is. Did you hit a girl??!!! I will be mad at you....
Caleb: NOO!!! I hit the kid that hits the girls.
Me: oh, OK
Caleb: Girls are more important than boys. That is why it is against the law to hit them. They are more important because the human race depends on them.
Me: we do? Why is that?
Caleb: because they give birth.

HA HA HA!! Ooooooh I laughed so hard. In other words birth is a HOT topic at the Peterson household. For the record I have at LEAST four more weeks of pregnancy, four hellish weeks! If all goes as I would like it the baby boy Peterson will be here ASAP. I am DONE with pregnancy. I would like my body back.

On another topic, our baby girl, Melissa, had her first kiss today. We had a playmate come over and play-Jack. He is the same age as Melissa. They play REALLY well together and for hours too!! Well, I got those wonderful drooly baby kisses from Jack. The dogs got those kisses, his mom too! Then he decided Melissa needs them as well. He grabbed her and PLANTED one on the mouth, his mouth was open and....well.....yuk! Later Melissa would lean in for these kisses. They shared many more during our play date. Yummy. And shhhh......don't tell Daddy Melissa has already been kissed! All in all it was sweet.

And another thing about this blog, it will be full of mis-spellings because I can't spell worth a darn, and full of typos as well because I am managing to try to do homework, manage kids, yell at Caleb to get his homework done, dogs are bumping me and mostly I am just too tired to care.

The story about Caleb is the best! I laughed so hard and I plan on sharing it with everyone I know. He's such a good boy.

I'm so glad you did a blog! I hope I will be better at looking at people's blogs since I obviously haven't got facebook to work too well. I'm so glad I found where you are and am excited to hear what happens in your family.
